Spiel00

This time we didn't have a stand, so we were free to wander the halls. The result was sore feet and a lighter wallet. In a strong field, there was no standout work of genius, but plenty of good solid games. Richard Breese brought a few hundred copies of his latest game, Keytown , which predictably sold out in a couple of days. The beautiful Java successfully crossed Tikal with Torres, for those who like that sort of thing. Other games that attracted a mixed response were Attila and Doge . My favourite, in terms of bang for deutschmark, was Carcassonne , a deceptively brilliant tile laying game.
This much travelled creature was brought along by the Warfrog team. Apparently it is the first time it has travelled abroad though.
Pevans is modelling the cowboy hat that Warfrog were giving away, with only a single condition. You had to wear it. They didn't have one in my size, luckily
Rob Mulholland had his own hat. Here he is helping Warfrog out, demonstrating their new game Way Out West Out of shot, Empires of the Ancient World is also being played
Just to give you some idea of the scale of the show, here is a long shot of the Moskito stand.
In the Childrens section there were more balloons than you could shake a stick at ...
  ... a bouncy Titanic ...
  ... and a giant pig
We were press, it said so on my pass, so I had no qualms about blagging a couple of free drinks at the Press Party on Thursday evening
More reports ... or back to the pit head
